Following decades of scientific development, forest monitoring with satellites should be an everyday activity for non-experts, thus helping to improve environmental conservation, forest management, and resource policy development. With CLASlite, we seek to support and expand the capacity of governments, nongovernmental organizations, and academic institutions to map and monitor forests with satellite imagery.
Through extensive observation of user needs, the CLASlite website has been developed specifically for its users. Here you will find information about using the tool and interpreting resulting images. Further, we hope that this will be a space for the exchange of CLASlite user experiences and that users can share the challenges and successes of satellite-based forest monitoring in the context of environmental management.
